Nikola Banduka
Dr. Nikola Banduka is an expert in FMEA analysis and risk management in the automotive industry, with over 10 years of experience gained through working in international automotive corporations. He has directly led and improved hundreds of PFMEA and DFMEA analyses in companies such as Aptiv, Autostop Interiors, Aunde, Sinterfuse, Morreto, Grah Automotive, Zastava Tervo, etc., working for clients including Toyota, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Daimler, Volvo, Stellantis, and Volkswagen.
As one of the few local experts in this field, he is certified by AIAG for PFMEA transition according to the “FMEA HANDBOOK” issued by AIAG & VDA in 2019.
Holding a PhD in Technical Sciences, his research focused on advancing FMEA analysis in the automotive industry, with a particular emphasis on improving product quality in the manufacturing phase. His dissertation was conducted within the prestigious Erasmus Mundus program, in collaboration with the University of Split, the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, and leading European universities and industrial centers. His scientific contribution includes over 20 papers published in international journals, more than 10 of which are on the topic of FMEA analysis.
As the founder of DigitaLLeather d.o.o., he successfully implemented an innovative industrial leather quality control project using artificial intelligence, supported by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia. This achievement demonstrated his ability to bridge academic depth with industrial application—an essential pillar of our philosophy in the FMEA Excellence software.
Nikola holds numerous international certifications, including: IATF 16949 Internal Auditor, AIAG certifications for FMEA and Core Tools, Lean and VSM specializations, as well as extensive experience with QMS systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949), team leadership, and continuous process improvement.
His vision is clear: to digitalize and enhance FMEA analysis, transforming it from a compliance tool into a powerful instrument for strategic decision-making, sustainable development, and the production of reliable and safe products.
Nikola Komatina
Dr. Nikola Komatina is a research associate at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac, appointed in the scientific field of Industrial Software. His research focuses on FMEA analysis, risk assessment, and process improvement in manufacturing systems, with particular emphasis on the application of advanced optimization methods, multi-criteria decision-making, and reliability analysis in the automotive and other processing industries.
He is the author of more than 30 scientific papers published in high-ranking international journals, such as Expert Systems, Journal of Risk and Reliability, Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Engineering Manufacture, Journal of Automobile Engineering, Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, Mathematics, and others. His work combines FMEA with fuzzy logic, multi-criteria and mathematical optimization methods, as well as artificial intelligence algorithms.
He has participated in several scientific projects funded by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, and the University of Kragujevac. He was a member of expert teams conducting training in Six Sigma methodology within automotive industry companies. He also lectured at the Faculty of Economics, University of Kragujevac, as part of a short study program Business Analyst, teaching FMEA Analysis and Six Sigma.
He is actively involved in national and international research projects, and according to Google Scholar, his research has been cited over 200 times—confirming his contribution to the development of engineering solutions aimed at increasing production efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. His vision is to bridge scientific methods with real industrial challenges—through concrete, measurable, and sustainable solutions.
